EWMS was created with a view of protecting the environment by providing a previously unavailable service for the safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste.

EWMS was created with a series of main aims in mind, namely:

• Providing Gibraltar with a hitherto unavailable service for the collection and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial wastes.
• Ensuring that Gibraltar was able to comply with the ever increasing volume and complexity of local, European and international environmental legislation.
• Meeting the overriding aim of protecting all aspects of the environment.
